North Cary Park Boulders (Research Triangle) - What's the deal?

I gotta be in Cary for work a couple of days and am staying by SAS a couple of miles away. Are these boulders worth packing shoes and a chalk bag to hit up? I'm busy all day and won't have much time but this looks like a good possibility for an early morning workout.

Is there natural padding of some sort underneath? Or should one have a crashpad?

If I show up at dawn am I gonna interrupt some meth heads or hobo sexual encounters?

They are OK. Mulch padding is sufficient, you won't need a crash pad. It's a Cary town park, clean and family friendly so the only heads you'll have to deal with will have expensive headphones on them. Most of the problems are pretty easy, but you can make up eliminates. You'll get a much better work out at Triangle Rock Club just down the street, plus they are open late.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
