I'm flying into Sacramento in a week and looking to get some climbing in. We'll be in San Francisco and Yosemite as well. Not bringing any trad gear or crash pads so I'm looking for sport climbing. Any recommendations? I'm typically pretty comfortable leading 12+ but my partner is following 5.10

Thanks

If you'll be in SF and have a car, a couple good options about 1-1.5 hours away for sport are Mickey's Beach and Castle Rock State Park. At Castle Rock, Waterfall Right has some 5.10s next to 5.11s/maybe 5.12-, and I think Lyme Disease Rock could maybe be a good option for similar as well- 5.10- and 5.11-, with one okay-ish 12-.

Mickey's Beach has a few options, I've only been to Main Rock, but it has 2 5.10s and then a bunch of 5.12s. The Egg also has some good options for a mix of grades.

Have fun!

Are you driving from Sac or SF? It makes a difference.

These are what pops to mind when I think sport climbing near Sac.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
