I would definitely say that during there is room in Philly for another gym. The ones we have are pretty packed with not much room for expansion.

I don't know what your talking about limited outdoor options though. Birdsboro is only an hour away and it has all the choss filled excitement of an alpine FA without the annoying approach through pristine wilderness or the loneliness that comes from not being surrounded by dogs and teenagers smoking pot or the long multi pitch lines that tire you out...

EDIT: The drive to birdsboro is only an hour away in optimal traffic. During days that end with Y traffic normally bumps it up only a little bit to 2 hours. Good old 76

Don't get me wrong... I climb there. Hell, I was there today. And I appreciate all the work people have put into making something out of nothing, but it could use a lot more epoxy then it already has.

EDIT: realized it sounded like I was bitching about the people who do route maintenance and set them needing to do more work. I wasn't I was just making a tongue in cheek reference to the fact that the rock quality requires epoxy to have any permanence to the route.

The city is large enough that a modern supergym should be able to profit pretty nicely. Hopefully they build it close enough to me to make it worth joining (they probably wont).

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
