There's been some scattered posts in these forums on this topic but I couldn't find anything systematic. Looking at the 30 degree temps this weekend, I'm thinking of aiding some lines, and would like to compile a list of routes by grade. I haven't personally aided much at the Lake, but I'll start with the couple that I have done. C1: Birch Tree Crack, Congratulations Anyone got any good C2 and C3 route suggestions?

Cheetah, thoroughfare, cop out, flake route, and sometimes direct. Those should keep you engaged...

30 years ago, Devil's Lake was where we first practiced using skyhooks. That uber-hard quartzite would not allow any bite; we were lucky to leave without embedding hooks in our eyeballs.

30 degrees is the perfect free climbing temp. Good friction!

Not for me. I like the 40s. You won't find me climbing barefoot in the 30s either. I like Jon's idea better. I should go nail Congrats, or maybe take a power drill and put in a bolt ladder along Brinton's. EB: Thanks for the suggestions.

Congratulations & Thoroughfare were fun lines to aid. I don't have a grade suggestion though and to be clear I was on TR solo. The small brass stoppers on Thoroughfare were a good time. Gills crack would be cool too I think.

I've never done it, but I'd guess Cheap Thrills would be good.

Guess I should have specified clean aid in the original post. I'm not quite sure of the legality of going to the quarry. If it was cool with the DNR, I'd totally go there to practice hammering. But I've got a preference for clean aid anyways, so I'm fine with recommendations being limited to lines that can be done clean.

IDK...Cheap Thrills has a really sketchy landing and my recollection is that until you get to the yellow TCU on the corner, the gear is thin to non-existent. My guess would be C3+/4, but I don't really know much about aid ratings beyond C1.
