La Sportiva TC Pro vs. Scarpa Techno X sizing

I am thinking of getting a pair of Scarpa Techno X shoes by mail order (I live several hours from the nearest climbng store). I know what size I wear in the La Sportiva TC Pro. Is the Scarpa sizing the same or is there an offset.

For me scarpa fits similar to sportiva when 1 size bigger. I wear a comfy Tc pro in a 46 and would expect a techno x in a 47 to fit similarly.

Anyone know anything about expected stretch on the Techno X's?

I have Mythos 44, TC Pro 44.5 and bought Techno X in 45. The toe box requires me to have a little larger Techno X. I have worn them 2-3 times per week for the last 3 months. They are my favorite show. I can smear better than with Mythos and edge fine. I climb better in them than either of the other shoes. You do feel EVERYTHING underfoot. The Techno's seem to be stretching about the same as my TC Pros. Length hasn't stretched, volume increased a bit.

Ha! The great sizing question. So important but so hard to use someone else's recommendations especially because you never know if they have one shoe tight and another comfy-sized.

I have a 41 Euro (8.5 US mens) in the TC pro and a 42.5 (9.5) in the Techno X. After about 100 days, the TC pros are definitely done stretching but still pretty snug. I only have 20 days in the Techno X and they have stretched enough to be really comfy. I assume when they are done stretching, that I would need to have a 9.0 in the Technos to fit the same as the 8.5 TC Pros. So, sizing the Scarpa a half to one size bigger than the TC Pros sounds right.

Regarding stretching, the Technos will stretch at least a half size.

Any input or help would be great...

Wear 44 in my scarpa boots and every day shoes. Ordered 43.5 for the techno. Pretty dang snug on my left foot and just about right on my right foot. With the 1/2 size stretch is it gonna get too sloppy? Don't live anywhere near a scarpa retailer. Thanks

One size up for Scarpa. I wear a 44.5 comfort TC Pro. Techno X with the same fit is 45.5

Other similar styles are the same for me. 1 euro up in scarpa

I would not recommend going down a full size in the Techno X; at least based on how they fit my feet. I tried that already and the shoes were way to small.

I wear a 9.5 street shoe (42.5), and got the Techno X in a 41.5 and climbed for a few hours in them and realized they were way too tight and painful. I'm actually going to be listing them in the for sale forum later today if anyone is interested.

Then, I ordered size 42, and wore them only inside for a little while, and realized they were also to tight and painful with my toes still knuckled. So, I've returned them and ordered 42.5, same size as my street shoe, and based on the fit of the previous shoes, I think they will fit well and hopefully get a little stretch also.

Of course, everyones foot shape is different, and preference for fit is going to vary.

I just purchased the Scarpa Techno X, seems like a really nice shoe. Sizing of Scarpa shoes is odd though, I have the Mont Blanc Pro in 44 and the Crux approach shoe in 43.5 - both fit perfect for me, pretty snug, good for climbing. But for the Techno X, 44.5 seems to be the correct size.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
