Anyone used either the new Petzl Salsa 8.2 or Petzl Paso 7.7? Looking to upgrade and would love some feedback.

I'm specifically looking for feedback on these two ropes, I am aware of what else is out there.

Not a lot of people favor Petzl ropes which is why there hasn't been much for responses.

Exactly. Which is why I'm looking for feedback since their new partnership with edelweiss. Interested to see if people notice a change.

I own the Paso ive put over a year on them, the are great!they handle like a dream, super light and after a lot of abuse, they still are in great shape! they replaced my dragonfly, they are much better and they can be used in twin AND double! I highly recomend!

I've climbed on my Salsas for one ice season and one rock season. The ropes are light, handle well, and are wearing well but I have a two gripes: 1. The colors. My partners have called them orange/darker orange, light/dark, red/black, pink/brown. Communication can be hard enough without discussion of color palette. 2. One rope has stretched so it's now over 6 feet longer than the other. I always climb and rappel on them as a pair, no difference in use. This is a real pain in the neck when managing rope at a hanging belay. I had the same problem on my previous doubles (Petzl Dragonflies). Overall, I'm satisfied because I got a great deal on the Salsas.
