Climbing in Ascona, Switzerland and surrounding areas in late September- beta, partners?

My wife may go to a conference in Ascona, Switzerland from 9/27 through 10/2. I have limited opportunities to travel right now with an 11 month old at home but would consider joining if there is some really cool rock climbing (or skiing but assume it's off-season). Interested in anything of quality from 5.easy through 5.10, trad, sport, single pitch or single-day multi-pitch and willing to bring all gear or possibly even splurge on a guide.

Anyone have any insights on the area, e.g. quality of climbing, what the weather will be like that time of year, etc.? I could certainly rent a car and do a bit of traveling at least for day trips. Would probably bring the baby and grandma. Really appreciate it. Also happy to meet up with anyone!

I've climbed over the hill to the east out of Chiavenna. Fantastic area. Small, local crags to big routes up peaks. Kinda has it all.

Have heard great things about the Ticino area.

Seen it rain pretty hard in late September/early October but probably hit or miss:

Yeah, pretty much no skiing that time of year.
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
