Camping spots for American Fork Canyon climbing

I am planning a road trip with my sister and we are ppanning on climbing in American Fork Canyon. Does anyone have favorite ( and cheap/free) camping spots that they recommend for this area?

There are better than average camp grounds in the canyon like Little Mill, Timpanooke, Granite Flat and a few others run by the park serve so they won't be too pricey or have too many amenities. I don't think any of them have showers for example but they all have streams nearby. If you go to reserveamerica.com they have a decent map and convenient online booking but they take a big commission. I generally use to look up sites then call the campground or park service directly.
