i went to school in Laramie (hr north) and have always liked FoCo. After a bit over a year of traveling, I'm considering settling down in fort collins. Just wondering what the local scene is like? I mostly sport climb and enjoy bouldering as well. i want to hear what the locals think! the good, the bad, i want to hear it all! also curious if there is any cold weather/winter climbing available near by? not big on gyms. thanks in advance!

FoCo is a great climbing town- close to RMNP for alpine, mixed/ice, bouldering and trad galore in Lumpy. The Poudre holds hundreds of boulder and sport routes. There's good bouldering to be had around Horsetooth. I'm sure you know the scene in Vedauwoo. And even the occasional foray down south into the land of Boulder is within reach.

Check out nococlimbing.org/ for more info and to get a Poudre Rock guidebook.

I would go golden

Nice small town atmosphere closer to Eldo and boulder canyon. And clear creek canyon is at your doorstep. And skiing and Denver are closer as well.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
