I'm looking to do this climb soon..it looks cool and I'm recovering from some surgery.

Is there a way to downclimb/ lower off the end ? I know it's not far, but my knees and hips are all metal

thanks

There is a way off the end, but it involves a minor leap between the end of the spy proper-landing on angled bit of rock. From there you can walk off. The leap is about 4 feet down and 2-3 feet across. Takes a bit of faith the first time around, but if you are recovering it may not be the best idea. There could be a way to downclimb off of this- instead of the leap, I'm just not aware. Good luck. It's a fun formation, i don't think it gets harder than about 5.4ish. I haven't brought a rope up there- but imagine you could find some pro along the way and maybe something to rap off f.

You can step off/down climb without much problem.
If you have a rope and a partner, they could lower you. Or they could jump down first and spot you...

Easily downclimbed without having to jump. Turn around and yard off the top. Monster footholds left if you're facing in. Should be able to step down then or use other ledge holds for the hands until you can reach. You should be able to see the holds from above.

Maybe a move of 4th class. I have the physique of a female gymnast too so average height or taller people definitely shouldn't have to jump.

Cool..thanks. I'll have a rope since my wife will be with me and hasn't climbed in forever.

I don't mind run outs or tiny gear, so that should be OK.

I last year did the route 3 weeks after a complete tear of the ACL, taking a first time climber up it for fun just before my surgery.
Needless to say I didn't jump.
The crux for my knee was the trail down from the top, not the climb or downclimb. There is a little loose terrain.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
