South Africa Trip - Early May 2015 (or Arapiles...)

Hi,

I'm looking for anyone who might be interested in a 2-3 week climbing trip to South Africa, specifically the Western Cape area. I'm considerring just going down on my own and trying to meet up with people but afraid i'll end up struggling for climbing partners, particularly during the week. Obviously i'd prefer to have some partners lined up, even just for some crags or particular days.

Ideally i was thinking of some trad routes on Table Mountain then heading inland to Oudtshoorn, Montagu, Du Toits Kloof, Cederberg etc but quite flexible. I've also put a post on ClimbZA.com but their forums aren't particularly active. I climb around 5.9 - 5.10 trad and around 5.12 sport and have been climbing for over 20 years.

My back-up plan would be to head to the Arapiles instead (as it should be easier to meet partners) so if anyone's interested in that idea, feel free to get in touch also.

Thanks
Neil

HI there,

I just got back from a trip to RSA and Namibia. I may have a contact for you, for the Table Mountain area anyways. I would contact him first to give me permission to share his e-mail.

My husband belayed me so I didn't have to actively pursue partners though I did try a couple of times. Since it was their summer, they don't tend to climb as much. I think May would be a more receptive time.

If you'd like any info, I'll do my best to impart my wisdom and experience.PM me

I LOVED AFRICA!!!!

Cathy
