Dierkes Lake Bouldering Climbing

Not exactly destination climbing but Dierkes is a hidden gem that's worth checking out! Especially in the winter. This is often the best and warmest place to climb for southern Idaho and Northern Utah during the bitterly cold winter months. The unwieldily nature of the current Dierkes page would be even more confusing if the boulder problems were added and so I am adding the bouldering as a separate page. Derkies contains hundreds of boulder problems, with potential for many more, as well as great overhung sport and trad climbing. For rope climbing, see mountainproject.com/area/11… The climbing is highly featured basalt and lends itself to incredibly unique holds with abundant huecos, pockets, jugs, crimps, pinches and slopers. *Google Maps actually has a street view for the main trail. You can "walk" through and look at many of the boulder problems there if you want. It passes the Kid Boulder, The Cube, all of the Stairs Right problems, and a few of the Stairs Left problems. You can also see some of the roped climbing areas.
