I received this email from the Access Fund today. It takes only a few minutes to send the Clackamas County Commissioners your voice of support. It would be great to have another outdoor climbing area close to Portland.
Madrone Wall, a beautiful crag on Clackamas County land, is still closed after 18 years of advocacy but climbers are working harder than ever to end this closure and reopen climbing for years to come. Despite the County dedicating the site as a park and completing a Park Concept Plan that calls for public access and rock climbing, the site remains closed to public access with a posted No Trespassing sign. The climbing community has a critical window of opportunity to share its voice before an upcoming Park Advisory Board meeting this month. We need your help to submit a letter by March 15, encouraging Clackamas County officials to follow through on their plans to open this public park.
go to www dot accessfund dot org (www.acccessfund.org); click the Take Action button and then click on "re-open madrone wall". Follow directions to email your support to the appropriate county officials.
