Does anyone have information about camping at Foster Falls?

My friends and I will be taking a trip to Chattanooga in a couple weeks and were planning on camping at Foster Falls pay camp sites, but recently saw they are still closed and will be for the season unless they find someone to run them. It looked like you were allowed to camp there for free and just walk in instead of driving. Does anyone have any information about whether this is correct or if someone has been hired to run the campground? Thank you for your help.

Unless anything has changed within the last month, the TVA campsite at Foster Falls is CLOSED.

Last time there I spoke to the park ranger and he told me that the TVA was looking but unable to find anyone to fill the campsite host position. According to him the TVA has basically given up on this effort and is trying get rid of their property at Foster Falls. The ranger said the Cumberland State Park is trying to acquire this and take over the campsite but they are not willing to pay for it because it is not up to their standards or something along those lines...? So hopefully in the future the campsite will be reopened

As of last time I was there the conditions of Foster Falls were as follows:

- TVA Campground: Closed with water off and bathhouse locked. However the ranger said you are allowed to camp on those sites if you do not wish to walk back to the Father Adams sites. There will just be no amenities and you can not drive back there because the gate is locked.

- The Father Adams primitive sites are on Cumberland State property and still free and open to the public. Just be sure to complete a campers registration form at the kiosk at the head of the trail.

- The bathhouse in the parking lot was open with running water/toilet and very warm heater. (bring own tp just in case)

- The water faucet by the pavilion was working

Hopefully this is helpful. If anyone else has any further information or updates on the situation I would love to hear

Thank you for the quick and informative response. Sounds like the bad news is we wont have the showers, but at least it will be free.
