New to CO, sport climbing area not in the snow?

I'm new to the area and just looking for an easily accessible sport crag to take some new climbers to. I'm not sure how snow affects the areas either. Any advice on locations are appreciated. Thanks.

Depending on your location (not specified) Shelf Road outside of Canon City may be your best bet. I'm sure the ground has snow, and the trail down to the valley floor can become an ice luge, but Cactus Cliff and the Bank are south facing and get blasted by the sun. Excellent winter sport climbing.

If you're near Denver, south-facing crags in Clear Creek Canyon might serve your needs. Cat Slab comes to mind. But with recent snowfall, this may not work.

If you don't mind floundering, North Table Mountain a.k.a. Golden Cliffs could work well. These face south and are up high, so get lots of sun and drying, warming wind.

At most places around the Denver area right now, there will be snow, potentially lots of it, on the approaches. This one (Golden) could be a doozy on the hike back down; consider Stabilicers, a walking staff or at least boots with aggressive tread.

Welcome from Florida, wherever you have landed!

Awesome! Thanks for the pointers. I'll look into these spots.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
