Just curious as to what the conditions are like currently in LCC for bouldering? And what are considered the best winter bouldering areas? Thanks.

35F and damp at the moment with chance of rain or snow showers.

Thanks. I guess I was trying to figure out how much snow is on the ground. Would a few sunny days bake it off?

Sure would. The sun isn't really coming out much these days. The snow will probably stick around until next week sometime.

Many of the boulders in LCC are under a canopy of trees and won't dry out nearly as fast as the exposed south facing cliffs above.

I would say the closer to the canyon mouth you can stay, the more likely it will dry quickly. I find that Secret Garden has some good boulders and with its location on the north side it gets more sun and dries out faster. That being said, depending on how much snow drops in the next couple of days, it could be a week before we get dry boulders again. But hey, boulders dry faster than the dirt around them. If it only rains, I'd try Thursday. Gonna be humid though due to wet ground either way.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
