I want to climb this Sunday. I was planning on going to Lake Tahoe, but Weather.com predicts that Friday will get 1" of snow and Saturday will have periods of snow and rain all day. Sadly, Pinnacles and Yosemite will also get rain so I can't climb there.
I have two questions: (1) Does anyone have any suggestions on where I should go? (2) For those familiar with the Tahoe area or Lover's Leap, how accurate do you find the weather forecasts?

Accurate enough that I wouldn't go climbing in the Tahoe area this weekend. Don't use weather.com. Use weather.gov. You'll do better there.

Thanks for the advice!
How is winter climbing at Cosumnes River Gorge? It'll rain on Saturday, but Sunday should be sunny and I read online that it dries quickly. I've never climbed there before.
I haven't climbed at Cosumnes either. Might be worth a drive to check out. Auburn is another option.
It's not supposed to rain much at lower elevations and it's supposed to be a very convective system, so it may pour over like Grass Valley, but stay pretty dry over Placerville. Worth keeping an eye on any local reports you can find.

Thanks Light Ranger. It's great to have some local insight into the weather. I'll keep Auburn in mind, too, although one of the guidebooks I read said that Auburn could be a refrigerator in the winter.
