Anyone been out to the cosmic wall/castle dome/six toe rock this winter? was thinking of coming out there soon and was curious about the snow/ice condition of some of the longer routes due to the dry winter.

According to a post I just saw on Facebook, Castle Crags is completely snow free at the moment. That may change as we move into March. The folks at The Fifth Season and Shasta Base Camp in Mt Shasta usually have a pretty good idea of snow conditions up there. Whenever I'm planning a trip in winter, I tend to stop by and/or give them a call. Have fun up there!

Hey, spoke with some people that were up there 2 weekends ago and it's dry. Also saw a photo of Battle Mountain last weekend which holds snow and moisture longer than most places and it was dry as well. Have fun!

Yeah, some friends of mine did Cosmic Wall the weekend of February 14th. Apparently t-shirt weather.
