Second attempt due to rain the prior October.....it was a 'now or never' situation.

Thank you for this.

LOL@ the Wesley Summers comment.

I was just thinking "this guy is like a poor man's Wesley Summers"

Then, I thought about pizza.

Nobody likes to get stuck behind other parties, but what does one expect when trying to climb an ultra popular trade "Gumby" route. Instead of spending half the day waiting on other parties why not climb one of the other routes nearby like the North Face of Castleton should not be problem for a non gumby like yourself. Fine Jade or any of the other routes on the Rectory are short walk and easily done in a couple hours then you could have done North Chimney the second have of the day, once the crowds have dispersed.
A few things I have learned when trying to climb popular routes, 1.) Get up super early and be the first on the route or 2.) go late in the day when every one else is done and possible climb something else nearby earlier in the day. 3.) Always have a back up plan.

Perhaps an elaborate troll?

This thing is dumb and dangerous when there's that many people on it. Go do Kor-Ingalls or better yet like he said, Fine Jade. It's a hundred times better. And your not dealing with 300 feet of choss.

+1 to what Highlander says.

Plus, have you seen the horrendous hanging dirt mound talus fields on the upper sections of the North Chimney? It's been awhile since I did North Chimney but I can't imagine it's changed much, anyhows I remember it was a fucking minefield and one of the last places I would want anyone above me... let alone multiple super slow parties pushing their limits on their first desert tower. Fuck that.

What a shit show it is on these popular desert routes anymore.

Edit: Concur with Shep also, "This thing is dumb and dangerous when there's that many people on it."

I've got a vid from my climb of Direct Petzoldt Ridge, 5.7, with an Upper Exum top out on The Grand....want it posted?

I like how in one sentence he calls the other climbers gumbies and then in the next sentence he talks about his 'summit bid' for Castleton tower.

This has gotta be a troll. Maybe if its 90 seconds long (with 10 minutes of editing) with little to no climbing in it and includes some nonsensical narration and show's how gnar and not gumby you are, then sure - post away.

After watching your DOWT vid I didn't watch this one, but given the response I can only imagine your video skills have gotten better.

A post and vid about this bro "topping out" on a chairlift in Brekenridge. "Killer winter alpine conditions, sick cornice drops onto the double black diamond imperial bowl".

This account HAS TO BE the most elaborate troll in the history of the Internet. That, or this guy is taking his spray to levels most of us can only dream about. Either way, bravo.

Whoa!

Andy, thanks for that gem.

I gotta say, I'm impressed either way. He's either BEAST-trolling and put a lot of time into these hilarious vids/threads, or he's sincere and officially the Western US Douchebag of the Year 2015**

Maybe we should re-title this thread to post your crappy climbing videos of your self here.

I'd like to hear more about DZS's 12 years of seeking fame and fortune.

Try a climb called "Stolen Chimney" way better and NEVER anyone on that one!

I agree with this. I'd also love to see the Direct Petzoldt Ridge vid.. Don't let the haters get you down DZS.

Profile says climbing less than two years. Video disparages gumbies.

OK.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
