Hey MPers

Throwing an idea out there for anyone so that i can get my hands on something like this, i am not qualified to fabricate things of this nature...

it sure would be nice to be able to have a detachable 'horizontal frontpoint' plate that you can slap on the vertical frontpoint of your 'pons to make the snowy approach pitch cozy, then just as easily take them off for the gnar mixed/ice pitch that usually follows..

thoughts?

does this mythical 'winged' plate exist?

more importantly, am i gonna die?

Might be interested in BD's new crampon. It's a monopoint horizontal. There is a thread on here somewhere with a photo of it.

Yeah ive seen a picture of that guy but it wouldnt allow you the advantages of a vertical front point for mixed/steep ice...thus the removable plate idea...

I'll play devil's advocate and say that you need to better use the points on the bottom of your crampons on the snow slope i.e. flat-footed technique.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
