Eldo closure

So I know some routes on Redgarden (Anthill Direct, The Naked Edge) usually close for the season Feb 1 for raptor nesting, but I was looking for a confirmation that they are indeed closed. With the recent snow and everything I wasn't sure if they'd push it back at all.

Tried calling the office, no answer. The eldo website says the entire park is open for access currently.

Any help? I just wanna climb!

The start of the raptor closure wouldn't be postponed due to snow. Sometimes they open it early if no nesting has occurred. I would assume those routes are closed. There is plenty of other stuff in Eldo that would be open. HTH.

What I know:

The closure on Redgarden won't go back into effect until there is some sign of raptor activity in the area. Go get yer Edge on, park staff (most likely me) will post up if the closure goes into effect this year. Chances are good it won't.

Shirttail will probably be closed soon to support nearby raptor nesting on OSMP land. Again, I'll post up when that happens.

Speaking of Eldo Closures: Work *might* start on the road at the Bastille this spring. Be prepared for road issues this summer. We're fighting the good fight with the engineers and project managers to keep the road open as much as possible, but you might have a longgggg walk if you want to go to Cadillac/Rincon on a weekday this summer...

Keep your stick on the ice.

Yeehaw! Thanks everyone. Mike you're the man. Good luck on the road this summer, hopefully I can make it out to volunteer if I'm around.

Shirt Tail is officially closed until July 15th, 2015. I'll post a link to the press release when they release it.

Here's the official press release thing:

It's pretty cool that Eldo climbers are so respectful of closures. I've been a fly on the wall at some meetings, it's also pretty cool to see how much the rangers here have fought to keep as much climbing/hiking open as possible. Special place, good people.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
