Hey folks, will be in Zion in the coming weeks but only for a few days. Looking for not-to-be-missed moderate (5.8 to 5.10) route suggestions. Looking for single pitches to all-day routes. Thanks!

Ashtar Command is pretty cool and really easy to access. Plus you have all of the tourists videotaping you as they wait for the tunnel.

Headache and Ashtar are probably the most popular routes in that grade range. Both are fantastic.

All day cragging can be had at Big Bend. Indian Creek style cracks that range from 1-2 pitches. If you aren't used to desert cracks you'll want at least a double rack, a triple can be comforting. Plenty of routes in the 5.7-5.10 range and several well protected 11's that are worth trying.

I'm guessing Dow Williams will jump in here and throw out some suggestions as well, he is worth listening to and has a great website on Zion climbs.

I would second the suggestions on Led by sheep which is a really cool sandy slab climb on the east side of the park. But yeah the crack climbs are not to be missed.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
