Ibex in Winter - go or no?

Hey guys -

Having limited experience with Ibex or the west desert in general, I'm wondering - is it climbable in the winter? I see that the place usually gets some snow, but it hasn't snowed a whole lot in the Wasatch this year, so maybe it's climbable right now?

Has anyone been out there recently that can report on the snow situation?

Finally, if it is too snowy - what else would make for a fun overnight trip OTHER THAN St. George/Utah hills, etc?

FWIW Amanda the Subway Sandwich Artist says there's no snow in Delta right now.

I was out there on MLK day and it was perfect.

I was out there a week or so ago.

It was 16 degrees when we rolled in, and I was thinking it was going to be too cold. However, by 9:30 or so, it had warmed up considerably, and we had a nice day of climbing. It was comfortable as long as we stayed in the sun.

I was at Joe's this past weekend (1/24) and conditions were perfect. It's a bit too far out to tell, but it's looking like 2/6-2/9 will be really good too. It was pretty cold at night though.

make sure to take the wind forecast into consideration since it is so open

Went there this past weekend. It was nice.

You can climb at Ibex itself pretty early in the day since it's east facing in general. Many of the crags go into the shade early though. Consider a move to Island of Stone or The Cape in the afternoon.

Judging from his profile photo, he's not afraid of a little wind.
