its a pretty obvious one.... if you can wing it , do it! way faster! make sure land owners permit it!

It's quite common to use a sled to approach climbs in Alaska.

I don't see why not, provided there are no access issues. The only other thing might be avy problems. Most ice climbs around here require a decent amount of bushwacking and/or non vehicular access trails. So, use would be somewhat limited in CO I would think.

used to do it all the time in the western Adirondacks. However you need to be sure you arent trespassing on land your not allowed to be on when riding. Its easy to do unless your on state trails. Which I always was.

It all depends where your thinking of doing this. I used my sled to access remote public areas that probably never saw another climber. It was a lot of fun and got us from a to b.

Just dont loose your sled key while climbing. As far as logistics? Dont know that there really are any. Ride and climb.

Its how we hit a lot of the good stuff in Alaska, Be careful not to tear the seat and enjoy the fast approach.

How is Anchorage for ice climbing in summer? Best months to be there in a van?
In general how hard is it to stay under the radar in a van in Anchorage when it comes to overnight? Very possible work gigs for the following summer may be opening up.

A little off subject but we took a low blow for any easily accessible climb able ice in BC this year, darn global warming!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
