What do you think it would take to convince Mt Lacrosse to let us practice self arrest on Damnation? Maybe in the spring when they close shop for the season? Seems like a great place (only place) to practice within about 1000 miles.

I learned how at Cascade Mtn post closure of their season. Didn't ask, just walked on. Great idea.

Thanks Jon. I'll keep that idea in my back pocket. I would think that if presented appropriately, self arrest practice would be an easy sell. Ski alpinism anyone?

I practiced on an unused ski jump landing hill.

In the past, Ski Santa Fe area in the spring after closure - sometimes there's decent snow for it. Most of the time it is so soft that about the most one can do is go through the motions.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
