Best Dawn Wall interview I've seen yet
7 minutes of pure gold. Alex Honnlove (really abc?) explains the climb. Humorous and strangely insightful. |
Honnlove, lmao. Oh man...this just gets better and better. |
"the baby will be backed up" |
"Have you climbed el cap?" |
The interviewer was painful to watch. |
Just out of curiosity, any one know how the ended up getting Fitz up there? |
Why on earth is she in front of a camera and why was that footage not destroyed the minute someone viewed it. I honestly do not know how some people are able to go through interviews like that without just leaving. |
That was pretty funny. That first question he should of been like "Yeah... they even did a special on me on 60 minutes..." |
how can i download this immediately?! |
10 Ask "What makes it so difficult?" |
new school of rock section: how to get a baby to rappel. |
Oh jesus this is gold |
Ask stupid questions if you must, but please ask each one just once. That was painful to watch. |
I feel like most news interviews are this dumb, they just never show the raw footage. |
Where is the (Honn)love |

Lady reporters all get wet for Alex Honnlove. |
She clearly was getting lost in his eyes...and his hands! |

According to the NY Times article, Honnold carried Fitz up the East Ledges. NYT wrote:Many of the climbers family and friends are taking an alternate route one suitable for experienced climbers. Its known as the East Ledges, a series of fixed ropes that takes less time than the hike but requires some climbing skills. Among those on the way now via the East Ledges is the climber Alex Honnold, who is carrying Tommy Caldwells 1-year-old baby, Fitz.http://www.nytimes.com/2015/01/15/sports/el-capitans-dawn-wall-climbers-near-top-yosemite.html |

I can't believe I just made through that entire interview, so painful, and yes the interviewer definitely got lost in the Honnlove's eyes, and yes her question was definitely so bad that Alex got distracted by random hikers hahaha |

"Among those on the way now via the East Ledges is the climber Alex Honnold, who is carrying Tommy Caldwells 1-year-old baby, Fitz." But earlier in the article, it says this: "About three dozen people are waiting at the top, mostly friends and family. At front of the group is Caldwells wife, Rebecca. (She ultimately decided not to bring their 20-month-old boy, Fitz.)" I enjoyed the Q/A in the NY Times article. I wonder how they work the traverse pitches... How do they get back to the belay after trying it or falling? Seems complicated. This is all very entertaining. :) |
