I just tried on the 5.10 Anasazi VCS. I like the shoe and the sizing is perfect, but it is pinching the inside of my ankle. Do you suspect that I would have the same problem with the Anasazi Blanco and/or Verde as well? Thanks.

I had a similar problem with Blanco/Verde styles. I just cut back the shoe in that area. Not ideal...

I've heard about this problem. Usually its inherent anytime a shoe doesn't have a tag that says "La Sportiva" on them...

Those shoes just have a lot of heel tension to keep your toes in the front of the shoe. I find that it sorta breaks in and stops hurting within a couple wears.

Agreed. Thought this would be a problem when I bought the Exum Guide some years ago for a two-day trip. An hour or two of hard hiking and they were pretty much broken in and providing support where it had seemed to pinch. Something similar with the Guide Tennies.

Let's think about whether it's characteristic of sturdy shoes.

OK La S. enthusiasts, my normal rock shoe is the Mythos ;<}
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
