Hey so a group of friends and i would like to go rock climbing and maybe some back country hiking. We are planning to go somewhere for spring break and i was thinking of somewhere in Arizona. Some local insight would be nice. I have looked up a bit but find it best to get local information instead of online stuff. Im looking for some areas with some warmer areas. We are from Minnesota so 50 degrees is pretty warm to us.

Come now if you're looking for 50 degree temps. By March you will find the entire state is quite warm. Climb in northern, southern AZ in March. Just choose the type of climbing you want.

Have fun.

My wife was born in Minnesota. We tentatively are planning a trip there sometime this summer. I'd be interested in meeting climbers from there so if we do make it up there I would have a guide :-). Hit me up if you decide on southern AZ and I'll show you around the Stronghold and/or Lemmon. Then if we do make it to Minnesota this summer you could show us around.

Hey! Check out Cochise, it will be plenty warm for you by March. Awesome granite climbing. You can send me an email at dwsnider@asu.edu, I'm a manager at Phoenix Rock Gym--I would love to help point you in the direction of some sweet climbing areas!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
