I don't need to guess, I know what that is, but I'll let someone else try because I just had a turn.

So here's the deal. I posted the area and possible route/s. Is the area even right? You gotta say yes, or no, to the area.

It is really a 2 part question everytime. Are we even at the right destination?

The Mad Hatter?, but that wouldn't get you pumped....

edit too add, Mike Anderson is soooooooo kickass! Damn your knowledge straight to hell!

No, the area is not correct. The rock type is incorrect, and the state is incorrect. The grade is in the right neighborhood, but also incorrect.

That help?

Onsighted by JStar, I'm told. Not that that narrows it down much.

Hahahahaha!

Rifle doesn't have any rock this good. Maybe Anti-Phil.

Not in Rifle, or Colorado.

Insomnia leads to 'Night of the Living Thread'
Someone should be able to guess this one given all the recent press it has gotten:

Yeah, it is big.

My internet sleuthery tells me it's the West Pillar (aka Vestpilaren) of The Priest, in the Lofoten region of Norway.

Yep! 1500' of moderate (10d) fun in the Fjords. Totally comparable to The Grand Wall at Squamish Chief.
No fair if you were looking at my tick list if that's what you mean by 'internet sleuthery.' Either way, you are up.

I would never cheat, unless I was really desperate. I recognized the region immediately, then it was just a matter of figuring out the specific route, which was not too difficult with Google Images.

Anyway...

Is the area that place in Germany or the Czech were you have to use knots for pro?

Monomaniac · · Morrison, CO · Joined Oct 2006 · Points: 17,295

I guess the answer is "yes"? There is a place (or places?) in Germany AND a place (or places?) in the Czech Republic where metal protection is banned.

You have the correct area. I don't need a route name, but the name of the formation is pretty easy to find. Here's a topical hint on how to find it:
