Does the Garden Creek Falls ever freeze enough for water ice? -14 right now in Casper. I plan to head out with ice gear this weekend if anyone is interested.
I went up this morning and the fall was froze. for the most part. I thought the toughest part was trugeing through the waist deep powder at the start, mid section, and the top out. Really pretty up there right now. Does anyone know if there are more water falls in the area? I met two locals that were stoked on winter climbing, they were roping up for garden when I was coming down. It would be nice if all the winter climbers in the area could all meet. anyway cheers and happy climbs to you folks.
Will, you should stick to climbing those wind turbines. How you doing buddy?
The ice finally came in in tahoe... (it'll be gone soon though) i soloed the donner nordwand today. I had a tense moment over a little wi5 bulge at the top of one of the ice pitches. matched hands on one tool, feet skating out hanging over the abyss. Oh man! Who needs three points when you can have one?!
Hope your finding some goods out there, saw your fb videos.
Sorry for the delayed reply. You can find ice in central wyo but its sparse. A few flows in the Laramie Range. The front range of CO is decent but need to show up early if you dont want to wait in line. You can avoid the Cody festival in Shell Canyon and have the whole place to yourself. Found some flows in upper Sinks Canyon last weekend. Will, shoot me a message if you want to rally! Cheers
