hi hello i just got to town 2days ago.
ive been on ksl & craigslist but not having much luck yet..starting to think 1st of Jan might be better to find room.

Some fools actually woke me up yesterday who broke into my car but were unaware I was sleeping in back.. so I'm looking for a place/ideas to safely park till I find a place?

Thanks friends!

Unable to accommodate the living scenario, but some suggestions:

BCC Park and Ride (at the mouth of Big Cottonwood). Running water and bathrooms.
LCC Park and Ride (at the mouth of Little Cottonwood). Bathrooms but no running water.
S-curve parking lot in BCC.

I'd stay away from the pullouts higher up LCC. A number of break-ins have occurred at the Gate A and White Pine parking lots.

There may be some spots available on the Bonneville Shoreline Trail trailheads. Some close at dark and are gated shut.

There's a nice lot at the Draper Ridge parking lot by Lone Peak in a well-off neighborhood which appears to be safe (based on driving by and leaving my vehicle at the higher-up but seasonally closed Jacob's Ladder trailhead).

My buddy and I spent some time at Mountain Shadow campground in Sandy years ago....not exactly the nicest area, but the place has showers, facilities, etc. Preferable to have a livable car, but we tented it there.

There's no car camping in Big or Little, Unified will rustle her out of there. The Mill B North lot isn't plowed so she'd have to park on the shoulder which might get ugly quick if it snows.

The Wasatch front is a rough place for people without housing, the public land has a lot more strings attached.

I spent a while without a house here this summer and the pull out to the left after the bcc park and ride worked great for me. As well as a pull out/parking lot right after storm mountain and to the left once you go through the split rock. I was never bothered or anything so i hope this helps!

Check ksl.com classifieds, used more than craigslist in Utah

Things in the canyons are very different in the winter (Nov thru mid-May). The police will definitely remove you and your car.
