OR Alpine Alibi redesign ?

I am in the market for a relatively warm glove with a gauntlet, with a preference for a little more dexterity and not a removable liner. I read a lot of praise for the OR Alpine Alibi, but have seen a few comments on the internet that it was redesigned for 2013/2014. Has the glove radically changed? If so, for better or worse?

I ask because I got some OR extraverts not too long ago to replace some old ones, and the fit was good but it seemed like the shell material got thinner / cheaper / less stretchy. It makes me concerned about changes to their line in general.

I had a pair of the original Alpine Alibi's, circa 2011-12. It was an impressive glove with many features that I never used, like two heater pockets in each glove. I used them maybe 10 days before the palm-thumb seam split on both gloves. Oh, and they were never warm enough for me to justify the price. But OR replaced them under their (excellent no hassle) warrantee. Since they didn't have my size in the new Alibi, I got (with my prior OK) the Warrant glove. A MUCH improved design seam-wise, and because it's not as over-designed (IMO) as the original Alibi, it is warmer. Here's the thing - as far as I can tell by looking at them, the new Alibi is the same as the Warrant with a gauntlet added. Bottom line - the new ones should be terrific; avoid the old ones.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
