Solo aid on the Diamond?

Anyone here have specific experience or recommendations for a route on the diamond that goes at C1/A1? I am building my aid skills and am looking for a reasonable solo-aid goal for the end of next summer. D1 has the aesthetics I am looking for (up the middle of the wall bottom to top) but I don't know what it is like on aid.

I'd love to hear any recommendations, cautionary tales, ideal racks, etc.

D7 would be a more straight forward and reasonable goal.
I would personally want to do a few free ascents of easier routes to familiarize myself with the mountain, the Diamond rappels, N. Chimney, summit options, descent options.....
It's an amazing place though, the more time you're able to spend up there, the better! Good luck.

Why do you say D7 is more reasonable? I don't know that much about the type of climbing on either route and whether they are more aid-friendly or not.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
