I know a chick who had an empty keg in her truck, and it had been empty for weeks, but she still just had it stashed in her truck bed. San Juan Co cops saw it, and even though there was no beer tap present, or any reason to doubt that it was from weeks ago, they gave her a $900 ticket.......Hope she got a lawyer if there was no beer in it... |

Yup. Any liquor with out a Utah Tax stamp is considered bootlegging. Also kegs are illegal here. You need to have a Liquor license to be in possession of one. All the Liquor stores are run by the state so they have complete control. They don't sell on Sunday either. Be careful drinking is a sin and they will punish you! |

If you're pulled over in Utah, and the officer asks if he can take a peek inside your cooler, tell them NO. |

A friend of a friend got busted at Indian Creek for smoking pot, and the locals brought the hammer down on him. |

Be careful drinking is a sin and they will punish you!In general, the above is true but many exceptions. Home brewed beer is legal in Utah, can be over 4% ABV, and does have any control by the DABC. There are some silly transport limits though. You can even have it in kegs. There are liquor stores in Utah not directly run by the state. They are called package stores. Many of the breweries (Uintah and Epic) and distilleries (High West) operate their own package store as to sell their higher alcohol beers and spirits. There are a few other package stores around the state that are run by individuals - typically in towns too small to have liquor store but big enough to have sinners. |

The cop's number one goal is go home safely. Think of Feguson: they stood around while business owners watched their businesses go up in flames. And I'm not really anti-cop, I just don't trust them because they are always looking to roust somebody to get their steroided jollies.thats not entirely accurate and really not fair. Until the day after Columbine, there was virtually no active shooter response plans anywhere. it is a completely different ballgame these days. Single cops will, and do, go in alone during active shooters because the paradigm is that every 8 seconds the shooter kills someone. If the #1 goal for cops was to go home, none of them would ever leave the house. Ive known dozens of LEOs over my lifetime, none of them have ever hesitated to step in front of a gun when they had the chance to protect people. Have you ever heard of projection? its when someone paints another person or group like you are doing now. What it really shows is your inner self and feelings. There are shit bag cops, just like there a shitbag law breaking hold chipping fuckstain climbers. There are also a lot of good cops out there taking up the slack. |

Check it out . abc.utah.gov/laws/law_faqs.… |

^^^. Yeah. I read that. That's not what I was referring to. I couldn't find it. Has something to do with personal property if you are traveling through Utah. |

Honestly the laws have gotten better since I moved here 8 years ago. It's changing every year so it's hard to keep up. I know you still can't order a double anything! But they can pour you a drink and a shot or a sidecar and give it to you but not pour 2 shots in your drink WTF? There is some real bizarre logic at work. Kinda like the Zion curtain that seperates the bar from the eating area. Like if we can't see you drink then it's not happening. |

it looked like there was a sobriety checkpoint last night on the south end of main street in moab. Not sure if they were just harassing people heading south, or if it is a normal thing on friday nights. |
