Concrete Shoes Wont Help Yah in Da River
Climbed 12/13/14

All ice on route was super hard and plating, but good enough to climb.
P1

Scramble up the gully to the ice - Concrete Shoes.
First pitch - Concrete Shoes.
P2
Mixed pitch - Concrete Shoes.
Mixed pitch had about 2-4 inches of ice going up the runnels
P3
P3 - Concrete Shoes.
Final pitch was really good

Then 700 ft of bs gully to the top of the ridge.

Hiking out on the road in mtneering boots is demoralizing

2 star route, with a crappy descent

A friend said it was climbable last Monday and it's been cold since then.

I was up at the spiral staircase area recently and noticed that the rescue sled is in very poor shape. Does anyone here have any insight into where one could seek a replacement sled?

Sled in poor shape. Notice the caved in nose.

Has anyone taken a peak at lincoln falls? I'm thinking of heading up there tomorrow or Friday to scout but curious if anyone has been up there after the last warm spell?

I was up at Lincoln on Sunday the 14th. Conditions were great. Plenty of fat ice in for numerous routes. The pillars were looking a bit like swiss cheese but the rest of the routes and ice are in particularly fat for this time of year. Get some!!!

@tenpins, what about any organizations out there that might donate something like that? Ic cascade toboggan a company that might do that? It just seems to me like it would be good to have the rescue gear there and in good repair, but I don't have the ability to replace it myself.

It looks like it might be fiberglass...in which case it might be able to be repaired. I'm not sure how they are used so you would want to know how the sleds are used before making certain repairs.

Before yanking it to repair it you might want to check if it is the local rescue team's or whose it is. That way the rescue team doesn't head up thinking one is up there and meantime you are repairing it.

Yes Hidden falls is in great shape some of the ice off to climbers R and L are still thin. But there are new anchors directly underneath the overhang both to the L and R of the main flow.

There is beta for that in this thread.

It may or may not be worth the walk as of today.
