Indian Creek: Middle of March vs Beginning of April?

Hi all:

I'm working on scheduling a trip to Indian Creek and could use some weather guidance. The two windows I'm looking at are the first week in April or the middle of March.

My sense is that the weather can be great at both times, but that the potential is higher for significant storms in March. I may not get to pick (work issues) but my sense is that early April will have more reliable weather.

Is this right, or is there not much difference between the two?

April will have more people there (mud season in CO). Easier to find partners/gear but also a certain percentage of those folks are gonna be douchey ColoRadBros

Weather will be great for both windows with a slight advantage to April. Either one has an outside chance of shit weather but nothing you can do about that and no one can predict that happening.

The coldest I've been in Moab area was an April midday sleet and wind and mudrain storm. Gnarly. But I'd say come in April - more daylight!

Thanks guys!

From this and other threads I've been reading I guess we'll need to insist on a rental car without Colorado plates as well...between the irritated climbers and the profiling LEO's, seems like a Colorado plate is not quite the cheerful conversation starter it was when I lived in Boulder 25 years ago!

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
