Just curious how long and where the longest bolt/rivet ladder in the world is? I know the Bjornstad-Beckey line on Zeus was 35 bolts. Does/did anything top it?

I'd guess that the compressor route used to hold that title.

I think I read there is/was a 72 bolt ladder on Scheherazade on the Titan, but most of them have probably long fallen out.

Wall of Early Morning Light has two long pitches of rivits in a row. I bet it's over 35, or close, but that's not A0. Those things are sketch as shit. You wouldent want to fall.

The Prow has a ton of bolts on the headwall, probably over 20 in a row.

The second to last pitch of the Nose probably has the best A0 in the world. Not more than 15 bolts or so, but 3000' off the deck. you cant beat that.

I don't think a long, bolted route is usually a "bolt ladder." The bolts need to be spaced a body length apart to be considered a bolt ladder, right?

West face Aid route of the Monkey has 50 bolts in a row from the top part of P1 to the west face cave 2 pitches later.

For at least some definitions of "bolt ladder", it's got to be a via ferrata somewhere.

First two pitches of West Face of the Leaning Tower in Yosemite? I counted 25-30 depending which topo you look at, but I feel like there were more. Its about 200'. (Had a couple of hooks, heads etc mixed in though so perhaps not a "true" bolt ladder)

I'm with David on this one. Scheherazade was listed as being a 75' bolt ladder and implied 55 bolts. Like he said, I'd guess that most if not all have fallen out by now and who knows when the last ascent was. Somebody should go up there and check it out!

The Japanese Direct line on the Eiger is probably the longest bolt ladder out there.

"Climbed exactly 40 years ago by a Japanese team and originally graded VI, A2, the route forces a direct line up through the "Difficult Crack" and steep 200m high "Rote Fluh", with the help of 250 6mm bolts and 2400m of ropes."

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
