+1 to knowing about it beforehand. It is boring in mass. Especially on a rainy and cold Saturday that you are busy all day until 3. Wish I could have gone

I found out about it through the American Alpine Club. They emailed me about it a month or so ago. I've also heard about events through the Access Fund, and in the White Mountain Report. All are good avenues for getting advance notice of good stuff!

I bought my ticket in advance and I arrived at Harvard at 6:30 but I couldn't find parking. Everything was marked "Parking by permit only". I even had my gps lead me to a garage and it was also "by permit only". It was pouring and I don't know my way around Cambridge so, bummed and sick of the traffic I headed home.

I went to it last night, it was like 1.5 hours plus a 15 min Q&A. He sticks around for autographs at the end.

RE: problems parking in Cambridge - it's always bad. I know it doesn't help for this event but the best thing to do is park at the Alewife T station right off rt. 2 and take the red line.

I just parked at one of the garages in Harvard square. There were plenty spaces for public last sat night there. There are signs everywhere on the streets pointing to them.

there may be many signs on the street which will lead you to parking, but there are likely more that don't. Boston is a cluster fuck to say the least. I hate driving anywhere in the city that i haven't been to before, almost always guaranteed to get stuck driving down some long one way while getting lost after a wrong turn... lol.
