Does anyone have experience with the micro traxion or the crevasse rescue kit from a rock climbing pov? As in using it for other than crevasse rescue? The micro traxion looks like it would be versitile. Could it be used as an ascender? Is the kit worth it? Thanks

The micro traxion is a great progress capture device for hauling bags or partners or for use as a lightweight ascender. I use mine for TR soloing too.
I couldn't say if the kit is worth it or not, it really depends on what you plan on doing with the contents.

I have used a pair of them as ascenders. Not the job they were built for, but they do in a pinch. I mainly use them for TR solo. I practiced a z-pulley once with one and a tiblock.
I've yet to actually use them as progress capture pulley devices. Go figure. I never find the need to haul in the style of climbing I do. Maybe next year...
