Too right, that things insane! I failed miserably to unpack it until the cutting disc came to hand. It probably would have been more interesting to put the plastic bit on the test rig than the Grigri, only after I´d cut it I had an idea of using them for bolting.

I am sick and tired of these damn kids going out to open packages above their ability levels then hurting themselves! This kind of incident gives all climbers a bad name!!!

I have the easy steps to get the grigri 2 out of the package.

-= TOOLS NEEDED =-
Needle-nose pliers or large philips-head screwdriver

1) Open the cardboard package along the right vertical edge
2) Open the cardboard like a book so you are looking inside of the package
3) Locate the plastic holder. You should be seeing the flat tab against the cardboard and a plastic tube pointing at you that is from the outer side of the packaging
4) Pick your tool
5) With the jaws closed forming a cone (or with screwdriver in hand), place the cone into the plastic tube and push very hard. Don't worry as the only thing you will scrape will be the plastic
6) The tube will slide out and you can remove with your fingers.

Three.

One to remove it and two to yell encouragement.

Has this been done free yet? All the descriptions I've seen involve aid...

If you are inconsiderate enough to take your Grigri2 out of it's protective packaging and leave it lying around your car trunk, pack or home, don't come crying to me when somebody cleans up your litter/booty!
