Portland is in Oregon actually. This is Washington ice thread. Unless you wanna drive 6 hours you should start Oregon area specific ice thread.

If this dude just moved to Oregon and there are so many dedicated climbers there why is he looking for partners in Washington? Hook up with a group of locals and drive out to ice? no? Too much to understand?

Besides, the ice is fickle here. So get some home state mentors and have them take you up on a few things before you venture out ice hunting to different states.

I think it's fair to say (at least I believe) that everyone in Oregon cares about WA ice, perhaps fewer Washingtonians care about Oregon ice, but that privilege comes from the realities of your more northern location. Let's keep the PNW brotherhood alive eh? That little river that separates us is a lot smaller than what brings us together. Then I read further. Come on. I can't count the number of times I've ran into PDX'ers in Hyalite and elsewhere. You either have the spirit or you don't (thanks Leonard Coyne!). We drive further, but share the same bonds. East coast vs. West coast is different story. Oregon vs. Washington? Let's climb together my brothers and sisters.

Bachelor, Hood, St Helens, Adams, Nisqually Chutes, Crystal, Stevens and so on and so forth. We can all climb the same ice as far as I'm concerned. Cascadia for life! Let's be nice to others. In other news...this warming cycle is real cool eh guys? 2-6 inches of rain below 8000ft.

This looks like could be climb able given the right conditions. Somebody even constructed a pretty bad ass Tyrolean rig.

I rode that thing bike riding once about 6 or 7 years ago. I dont know about climbing there as i was spending all my time bicycling at that time. The mountain bike trails around Leavenworth are sick!

Temps are dropping all over the state and look like they'll stay down through mid-week. Anybody have a clue what Leavenworth is looking like? I'd love to head there tomorrow or Monday if anybody is interested.

Leavenworth all wet as of yesterday. We found a sick Tyrolean across the icicle creek. 2 bolts atop and runoffs indicating that it is one of the climbs. Mt Baker would be my bet to come in first.
