Was curious what the conditions were like on the Flat Irons. I'm looking to go out tomorrow morning and get a few solos in but I was not sure if they were wet or have a fair amount of snow on them. Any beta is appreciated. Thanks!

Unfortunately, it snowed early in the a.m. here in Boulder, so the Flatirons are all covered in a pretty thin blanket of snow. Should dry up, but not until later this afternoon/tomorrow.

Stinking snow! Haha. I was just about to drive down there until I saw this post.

I'd like to second the comment about stuff falling from above. I went to check out south sneak a few days ago, hoping it would be dry and ended up hiking up and around in snow. The time time we went around the second and down the other side by the first there was stuff falling down the faces. Several of the ice chunks would be more than big enough to knock a climber off too. Pretty scary!

Bummer, It did the same in Denver. Thanks for the heads-up folks!

Climbed most of the second today. Plenty of spots that were wet and snow covered. Avoided the very bottom that was snow covered from always being in the shade. Plenty of areas with ice. Have a plan to retreat ie rope/harness or know you can down climb. It would be easy to climb snow covered/Ice crux and then shit yourself if you had to solo back down. Have fun.

Things are in better shape as of today, but some of the trails are packed down and icy in spots. Take spikes or trax or something if you don't like slipping.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
