Climbing holds cleaning
|
I recently built a home bouldering wall and I was wondering if I need to clean the holds ever? With bleach etc...? |
|
you can wash them in the dishwasher without detergent, just hot water. |

Giving them a wash in vinegar will help remove a lot of chalk/oil/rubber that's formed in the pores. Mite work. |

I work in a college climbing gym and the best cheap way to clean holds is in vinegar for 5 minutes unless the holds are particularly soiled. |
|
I prefer vinegar rather than bleach. Sometimes I choose to wipe the hole with a dish scrubber that has been soaked in soap liquid before. |
|
I have a hangboard which is starting to look a little gross. Of course it's the white/blue one. Same advice, scrub with vinegar? |

Throw 'em in your frontloading washer on the "heavy" cycle - s/b fine. |

I typically fill my bathtub up with warm water and white vinegar. Soak them overnight and then scrub them with a brush. I’ve done this many times with my Rock Prodigy hangboard and every time it’s been restored to a like new condition. Big jugs of white vinegar are super cheap. |

I would not use bleach, if you need to remove old rubber deposits, heavy chalk then you might want to brush them first with some mild soap. Dishwasher with So Ill's "grip wash". Works very well, and a little goes a long way. |

Load me up and take them to the diy car wash and pressure wash them. |

So I accidentally soaked the holds in bleach... And they are a little white now... Is there a way to get that off? |
