Tough news. The friend who was there is in a bad place right now. If the friend is a member and reads this feel free to send me a pm. I have been in your shoes and I'm sure other members have been as well. RIP

I went and climbed Yellow Yesterday and I can tell you there are many places to get good, solid gear. In the first 30 feet I had a solid stopper, bomber Yellow Alien and Green Alien. The runout comes after these placements on 5.5 or 5.6 terrain (the first pitch). This gear will keep you off the ground. Once on the second pitch, you're golden.

I just want to be clear about this so people are not intimidated by this route. What happened is a total tragedy but likely avoidable. If gear is placed often, and placed properly.
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
