I'm heading to Bishop to climb in the gorge and surrounding areas this coming week. Never been in nov/dec and was just told it's a busy month. Do the cliffs get crowded? Also any suggestions of centrally located camp grounds that you've found to be really worth checking out. I've camped on the south east end of town only. Lastly, I've only sport climbed there. What are a few spots to trad climb moderate grades. Thanks for any info!

Free camping all around the owens river gorge area. Just continue past the parking lots on the main road in and drive up any of the dozen dirt roads until you find a suitable spot for yourself.

"The Pinyons" just north of the Upper Gorge parking area. See map: google.com/maps/place/Unnam…@37.5371607,-118.5966185,615m/data=!3m2!1e3!4b1!4m2!3m1!1s0x80be03ef4f5cc551:0x11926873118d396e
