Getting There
From the parking area north of the substation on forest service road 342 follow the wash east for a half mile until you reach a stone wall/lookout, on the top of the west ridge of Devils Canyon.from here head south down a steep trail that snakes down into the canyon and Diamond Dog will emerge on your right.
The trail out of the parking spur off the east side of the road (just after a hill) is well marked with cairns and is pretty easy to follow for the most part. You might have to do a bit of route-finding where it crosses the drainage, but usually not too hard to figure out. For what it's worth, the Karabin sheet may say it's 1/2 mile from the parking to Diamond Dog, but in reality it's more like a mile (via GPS).
