Doing what makes you happy

You all need God. Faithless are never happy. |

I suppose not. In time you will stop feeling like a jerk for doing the right thing. Stay true to your values even when life rattles your up a bit. And don't forget to have fun while you're at it.I owe nothing to noone and it is a great feeling, sad so many people rather be owned by a bank and have the newest fad toy than have less and being free. Yes i know i am far from normal, most of the people i work with say i am not American. I guess i consider that a good thing. 95% of our society are slaves, it is really sad. Not everyone does stuff to make themself feel good, plenty of people have sacrificed their life for something they believe in. Being killed doesn't make you feel good. PS: I am a diabetic and if they ever find a cure for it I will be quitting my job and living in a tent for the rest of my life. I have calculated it and even being in my 20s I have enough to stretch what I have for the rest of my life |

Passive Aggression wrote:Happiness is bound to the law of opposites and cannot exist without sadness. To live with a concept that certain things makes you happy is to create a world where you will be unhappy as well.Do you think that's bad? I live in a world with both happiness and sadness. I accept both. |

Viper, juvi diabetes is a hard dealt hand. Take care of yourself , man. Don't stress over shit. |

There is no self. Make the self happy means make nothing happy. You are trying to appease heavily conditioned patterns of thinking and nothing else. |

ViperScale wrote: Not always true though, I know plenty of cases that doing what was right made me feel like a jerk but it was the right thing to do.It's possible to feel bad and good in different ways from the same action and at the same time. For example, you see some blonde bitch out the Burger King worker because he added pickles on her burger. While she is on the way out, you stand up and accidentally trip her. You feel bad for tripping her, but you also know she was just being an ass and feel good that karma, or whatever, caught up to her, thus two opposing feelings simultaneously. |

You either know it or you don't. |

I have or have had every newest fad toy and I have more free time than you. |

The current state of research on emotion is quite a bit more complicated than highly optimistic, feel-good mumbo jumbo. |

doligo wrote: Having a family and having fancy things is not everyone's idea of happiness or purpose of life.Yep. Some of us just need something to climb and enough time for slacking off. |

That's why you have the time, and money, to frolic in low grade ice and self indulge in every new toy that comes out on the market. You, Bill, kinda figured it out, you see. Just make sure your accountant does not start embezzling while you are out there planning your next climbing trip. I respect people like you. Just don't get too greedy. |

Why can't people just give each other a break. Darn. |
