Need help. Lost Drone (DJI Phantom 2)

RC toys can barely carry their own weight, much less a few additional pounds. Add an oversize battery and they don't fly very well. It would take a HUGE quad opted to carry a few pounds of extra cargo. |

Sure, because criminals always have ethical conundrums with committing more than one crime.I may have to steal that as my signature line. That is amazingly insightful... Too bad at least half the country won't get it... |

Old Crusty wrote:How hard is it to pack a crappy home made bomb like the one used in Boston and fly it into the middle of Disneyland with a drone? Not too far fetched. Modern model drones even let you fly them to a location autonomously. Given this I really have no problem with a restriction of these devices around large groups of people. Don't get me wrong... I love flying my quad copter, but would give up this trivial bit of freedom to assure some nut job doesn't blow mickeys a$$ away! Timur, I hope you get your drone back! And the Russians are invading Alaska too... martial law needs to be implemented quickly to keep us safe. ISIS is sending suicide bombers too... so all cell phone conversations and communications will be monitored, tracked, and stored too. And drones could be used to fly bombs into populated areas, drones need to be made illegal. Where does it stop? We can come up with all sorts of ways people could hurt people. That doesn't mean driving or baseball bats or any number of items used recreationally should be illegal. I mean if this was a valid argument we would have made most guns illegal like the UK. Sorry OP - u shld just go get your plane or hire a guide to get it with you. |

Wonder what that thing would do to your hair if it landed on your head |

I think Amarius was posting that as a proof of concept more than a this is the weight they would use. |

Timor, it's a relative new law. When you don't know something, it's a good idea to ask. |

Let's see... Quadcopter capable of lifting 10 lbs for long enough to get over stadium or amusement park: $5000 |

Pretty awesome that this has gone from "Hey, I lost my toy, can you help?", to "drones" strapped with C4! Gotta love forums. |

Morgan Patterson wrote: How do you know to ask a question about something you don't know? This. I learned recently (retaking drivers test for license renewal) that a law went into effect that made it illegal in CA to smoke in a car if a passenger in the car is under 18. I did not know this law had gone into effect. According to Steve Powell's logic, I should have been asking every single day before and/or after the law change went into effect if it was now illegal to smoke in a car with an underage passenger. Someday they might change the laws on whether it's legal or not to make a right turn on a red light, according to Steve Powell's logic, I should be asking every single day if that law has changed just to be sure. etc. etc. etc. |
