Seal Rock Flatirons Downclimb Question

Could somebody tell me where the path of least resistance is from the summit back down to the shoulder?

I've soloed it several times and have never found a "juggy" or easy way that others have mentioned. I'd love to find a better way than I've done that does not require 2 ropes.

Thanks!

Well, you never need two ropes, one 70 (60 might work, I have not tried) is plenty. There is an intermediate rap anchor if you are rapping Sea of Joy, two single rope raps gets you down fine.

As for down climbing, there are several options, one is to just down climb the crack splitting the upper face- likely what you climbed up if you are doing the east face. 2nd is to stay skiers left out near the edge of the rock, quite a few jugs there that bring you back down to the shoulder as well.

I just downclimbed the route.

Thanks. I've just downclimbed my ascent route as well but have found it "interesting" for my tastes. I've never stayed out right on the edge. I'll check that out next time.
