Cleaning shoes?

I often find myself going over my gear with a family member or friend nearby when I take out my shoes and almost always get a couple comments on their smell. The stench is almost unbearable but I feel like I've tried everything from tea bags to febreeze. Any suggestions?

What kind of shoes are you talking about, climbing shoes? What's the brand? Are they synthetic or leather?

I've had good results using Mirazyme. Just follow the instructions on the bottle.

Wear thin liner socks to reduce the stench and sweat in the shoe.

I hand wash mine in cold water with a little detergent when they start to get that ripe smell. It's worked the best.

This happen to me before. With my montrail magnets. They got banned from the gym. Seriously the owner told me either the shoes go or I do. They smelled so bad. There were a great shoe. Had to heat them in the oven for a few minutes then wear them to get a custom fit. Well the inside foam from the molding process held a lot of sweat so you can imagine the smell.

Lysol helps a lot it kills bacteria and has a better small then the shoes itself. Worked for my Solution.
Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
